About Doc Lab
What does Doc Lab do?
Doc Lab partners with labs and practices to build laboratory testing programs tailored to their goals—whether you need a complete turnkey solution or support in specific areas. We provide diagnostic tests, equipment, training, regulatory guidance, and ongoing management, scaled to what each lab needs. Backed by rigorous science, proprietary reagents, and deep compliance expertise, we help labs deliver exceptional results with confidence.
What's the Doc Lab Difference?
At Doc Lab, rigorous science meets real partnership. We don't just supply diagnostics—we work alongside you to build a testing program that fits your goals, whether that's a complete turnkey solution or targeted support in specific areas. That partnership is backed by real substance: proprietary reagents and assays developed to our specifications, deep expertise across molecular diagnostics and regulatory compliance, and a team that gives you real answers instead of a call center. The result is a lab partner invested in your success, not just a transaction.
How long has Doc Lab been in business?
Doc Lab has been in business since 2016, evolving from a physician-practice-focused service provider into a vertically integrated organization that develops proprietary reagents and assays to Doc Lab specifications, conducts clinical trials, and invests heavily in R&D. We now work with physician office labs, independent reference labs, and hospital labs, bringing deep expertise across molecular diagnostics, clinical chemistry, and regulatory compliance.
Do you manufacture your own products?
We develop our proprietary reagents and assays to Doc Lab specifications, based on rigorous science and studies. This gives us control over quality from formulation to lab, and means our technical support team can actually solve problems—not just read from a troubleshooting script.
Getting Started
How do I get started with Doc Lab?
Start with a conversation. Contact us to discuss your lab or practice, your goals, and what type of testing setup makes sense for your situation. We'll explain options, answer questions, and—if it's a good fit—develop a plan. No pressure, no hard sell. Just an honest discussion about what's possible.
What's involved in the implementation process?
We handle equipment selection, installation, regulatory paperwork (CLIA, state licensing), staff training, method validation, quality control setup, and go-live support. You provide input on preferences and designate staff for training—we coordinate the rest.
How quickly can I get up and running?
We manage the full process for you from start to finish—keeping things moving and keeping you informed at every step. While exact timelines vary depending on your lab's specific needs, our hands-on approach means no surprises and no unnecessary delays.
Do you only work with new lab setups, or can you support existing labs too?
Both—and everything in between. We work with labs at every stage: building a new lab from the ground up, adding specific testing capabilities to a current operation, hosting labs, or simply supplying reagents, assays, and platforms for labs that want to run testing on their own. Wherever you're starting from, we tailor our involvement to fit your goals.
What if we already have some equipment?
We can work with existing equipment where appropriate, or help you evaluate whether upgrades make sense. Every situation is different—we'll assess what you have and recommend the best path forward.
Tests & Services
What testing services and solutions do you offer?
Our testing menu includes UTI Max and UTI Express™ (molecular UTI PCR testing), TrueUA™ (quantitative urinalysis), MiCheck® Prostate (prostate cancer risk assessment), Vaginitis PCR, STI PCR, Quad RPP, blood hormone testing, and more. Through SoftCell Laboratories, a Doc Lab-owned company, we also offer send-out testing for pharmacogenomics (PGx) and urine cultures—giving you a single partner for both in-house and reference lab needs.
Are your tests available in all states?
Yes, our testing solutions are available nationwide, with different solutions, setups, and platforms tailored to meet each state's and each lab's specific requirements.
How quickly do we get results?
The great news is that tests run on-site are virtually point-of-care, with same-day results ranging from minutes to a couple of hours depending on the test. Other testing sent to our reference lab, like PGx and urine cultures, may take 2-4 days or longer depending on the test. Estimates for all individual tests can be provided upon request.
Compliance & Regulatory
What certifications does Doc Lab have?
Doc Lab maintains CLIA certification. We also help our client labs and practices achieve and maintain their own CLIA certification and, where applicable, CAP or COLA accreditation.
How do you help with CLIA and CAP/COLA compliance?
Compliance support is available across every stage of the relationship, and the specific scope depends on the services your lab selects. Options include handling CLIA certification, PTAN setup, and regulatory paperwork during implementation; supporting PLA code and T&A (technical assessment) submissions and market access for labs pursuing new or expanded testing; and ongoing compliance monitoring, QC oversight, audit preparation, SOP development, and regulatory updates. We'll work with you to determine which of these your lab needs, and build your plan and pricing around that.
What happens during an audit?
We help you prepare for CLIA, CAP, and COLA inspections with documentation review, mock inspections, and staff preparation. When inspections happen, we can provide on-site support if needed. Our goal is for audits to be non-events—because you're always prepared.
Do I need CAP or COLA accreditation?
Accreditation is voluntary but offers real benefits: it satisfies CLIA requirements, demonstrates a commitment to quality, and may be required by certain payers. We can help you evaluate whether CAP or COLA makes sense for your lab and support you through the accreditation process if you decide to pursue it.
Support & Partnership
What kind of support do you provide after go-live?
Every lab and practice has different needs, so ongoing support is built around what you select, not a single fixed package. Depending on your agreement, this can include White Coat Lab Management, 24/7 clinical and technical assistance, compliance monitoring, QC oversight, staff training, equipment maintenance and service, and more. We'll help you determine the right mix for your lab, and your plan reflects exactly what's included.
How do I contact Doc Lab?
For general information, email us at info@doclabinc.com or call 503-402-2504. Once you're a client, our support team is available 24/7 at support@doclabinc.com or by phone at (503) 402-2504. You'll reach people with genuine expertise, not a call center reading from a script.
What does White Coat Lab Management include?
White Coat Lab Management is our ongoing partnership service, and its contents vary based on what each lab selects. Available services include compliance monitoring, QC oversight, 24/7 support, staff training, equipment management, laboratory management, and technical supervision. Rather than a fixed bundle, we build your specific plan and pricing around the elements that matter most for your lab, so you get what you need without paying for what you don't.
Pricing
How does pricing work?
We provide transparent pricing based on your specific needs, equipment, tests, and services. No hidden fees or surprise charges. We'll discuss your situation and provide a customized proposal that clearly explains everything included and everything that isn't.
Is everything described in these FAQs included by default?
No, our services are modular. The specific elements described throughout these FAQs (compliance support, ongoing management, equipment, technical assistance, and more) are available based on what your lab needs. Your plan and pricing are built around exactly what you select, so you're never paying for services you don't use.
Do you offer financing?
Yes, we have access to financing solutions for most situations, and we'll work with you to identify options that meet your lab's specific needs and budget.
